
The Funds Objectives
The following are the purposes of The Jake Pastel Cancer Fund, Inc. as identified to the IRS.
Charitable – Assist children with cancer like Jake and their families with the opportunities to attend camps, conferences, seminars and other related events. Perform fundraisers and accept donations to ease the financial impact on a family with a child diagnosed with cancer.Spiritual – Encourage children with cancer like Jake to attend camps and support groups to further their relationship with others with cancer. To provide children with cancer like Jake and their families an opportunity to connect with others who can relate to what they are going through. Perform fundraisers and accept donations to seek monetary assistance from other organizations, businesses, or through grants, so that these opportunities can be financially obtainable.
Scientific – Perform fundraisers and accept donations to seek and provide monetary assistance to medical and cancer associations in the fight to cure cancer. Children with cancer like Jake are often left with numerous physical and emotional complications affecting their well-being and cause practical challenges in their day-to-day life. Much of this is addressed at their local medical facility. Sometime these facilities become charitable institutions when faced with families who do not have money or medical insurance to pay for medical needs. The fund will attempt to assist medical and alternative medical facilities treating patients with brain cancer and cancer related problems.
Educational – Information is power in the journey as a cancer survivor. Education and information are critical in preparing and equipping individuals with the knowledge of how to cope with brain cancer. To assist in providing information about cancer, treatments, research in progress, recent studies, nutrition, and support services, and other cancer related problems. To provide a forum to help others like Jake access to sound information and supportive programs that can help them through their enormously difficult challenges.
